The perfect local development domain

Many website developers work locally on their laptops or personal computers before posting code to a centralized web server.

When running a website locally, you use http://127.0.0.1/ (or the common alias http://localhost/ )

However, these URLs are not especially elegant or descriptive. So, developers typically edit their hosts file to provide a more descriptive domain, like mysite.dev or customersite.com.local

There are some dangers with this approach so well discuss the common approaches and suggest the best option:

*.dev

The problem with creating your own made-up top-level-domain (TLD) is that you run the risk of that imaginary TLD becoming an actual TLD. For example, lets say you run a company called ACME and a decade ago your IT team standardized on using *.website for all your local websites. So, http://acme.com/ would load your public Internet site and http://acme.website/ would load your private internal company intranet site (for all machines on the network whose hosts file was configured appropriately). This worked great...until 2014 when *.website became a generic top-level-domain (gTLD). What if the person that reserved acme.website was a hacker or competitor? If a new employee didnt have the hosts file configured yet (or someone was using their mobile device, etc.), they would inadvertently load a different site controlled by that external entity. Bad news! Youre probably thinking, "Well, Ill just pick a domain suffix that no one will ever really think to register". The reality is, with the proliferation of new gTLDs, its just not a safe bet to create your own.

*.local

You may be thinking, "Isnt there any domain I could use for local offline sites?!" Well, there are -- theyre called reserved domains and they were built for that very purpose: example, invalid, localhost, test, and local. None of these are particularly attractive except for the obvious choice: *.local. Problem solved, right? Not so fast. Unfortunately a particular company (*cough*Apple*cough*) decided to abuse that domain for its own purpose so they ruined it for the rest of us and its no longer recommended for use. Note: technically, *.test might be an acceptable alternative, but most companies already have a dedicated test environment so using *.test for a local site would be confusing.

Purchase your own dedicated-purpose domain

The safest way to ensure a particular domain suffix wont become official or be used by others is to simply buy it. The downside to this approach is that it costs money (unless you use a free service [1, 2, 3]) and theres a slight risk of someone forgetting to renew the domain at some point and a squatter claims it, thus introducing the potential issue described in *.dev above.

*.dd

This country code top-level-domain (ccTLD) was originally reserved for for East Germany but never implemented (due to the reunification of Germany). Importantly, it was never added to the root nameservers so browsers wont recognize it as an Internet address. Equally important, it was used internally by a couple universities so that historic precedence means *.dd wont be revoked and reassigned to a different country in the future. Its also easy to type and nondescript -- perfect for local development.

*.local.dd

My recommendation is to use *.local.dd because its more descriptive and allows more flexibility -- for example, you cant whitelist *.dd in Ghostery but you can whitelist local.dd (which then whitelists all its subdomains).

The second step involves the creation of a partition. You must partition your memory card or micro SD card, whatever the phone uses. The Galaxy S comes with a micro SD slot, so that is what has to be partitioned.

Step 3

Execution of Partitioning

The third step involves executing the necessary partitioning. Partitioning of the card on the phone is different from what is done in a desktop computer or a laptop for that matter. In order to achieve partitioning, you have to install software known as MiniTool. There are many software that are available in the market that perform partitioning. But for now, let’s just stick with MiniTool.

Once the download of the partition wizard is accomplished, go ahead and run the application after installing the same.

Step 4

This step involves the achievement of partitioning without the loss of information. Partitioning could be sometimes resulting in loss of valuable data. It is advisable to store a backup of crucial information. If yours is a new version of the micro SD, you are good to go without creating a backup. It is necessary to read everything you agree to while following the steps. Proceeding with a little forethought is recommended.

Step 5

Next, plug your phone to the system, Select the fat32 file system option ad click on apply. Once that is done, you can edit the micro SD and click on re-size. You can re-size to whatever capacity you wish (depending on the capacity of your card that is).

Step 6

You’ll get the MiniTool window. Choose the EXT3 file system and click on apply.

Step 7

Next, you’ll need to install the link2sd application. Run the application, follow the instructions, reboot your device and you are all good to go.

Apple ’s new larger-size iOS 8 powered smartphones features some pretty compelling benefits including a new 8-Mpix sensor with on-chip phase detection pixels for faster autofocus and optical image stabilization on the 6 Plus.

From our industry-standard series of tests both in the lab and real world use, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus perform very similarly. They have very good, generally reliable auto-exposure in a wide range of lighting conditions and they have both fast and accurate autofocus. Output from the 8-Mpix stills improves the high level of detail in both outdoor and indoor lighting. In low light, noise reduction is handled well with images revealing fine-grained luminance noise and little of the distracting color (chroma) noise.

The main differences between the 2 cameras come from the OIS present in the iPhone 6 Plus. On one hand, the OIS helps to increase still images exposure time in low light, leading to better noise performance. Ghosting on HDR images also seems smaller with the iPhone 6 Plus, probably helped by the OIS that ensure a good registration between images. On the other hand, we have observed a video stabilization artifact, on the iPhone 6 Plus, most likely linked to the OIS control that lead to a video stabilization score slightly lower for the iPhone 6 Plus than for the iPhone 6.

Equipped with a new 5.5-inch Retina HD display with 1920x1020 pixel screen the 6 Plus has the slightly higher resolution panel at 401 ppi over the smaller 4.7-inch 1334 x 750 (326 ppi) display of the iPhone 6.

Both displays have stunning clarity, high contrast, excellent color and wide viewing angles, which is promising for viewing (and editing) stills and video on the go. Video capture doesn’t include 4K but both feature 1080p at 60 fps with slow-motion options at 120 fps and 240 fps. However, while the longer battery life of the larger iPhone 6 Plus looks more appealing that of the smaller iPhone 6 the debate has started about the larger model’s suitability for discrete street photography.

Cons:

Luminance noise visible in low light conditions (iPhone 6 only).
Color quantification, and moiré noticeable on few pictures
In addition iPhone 6 has some ghosting and fringing.

Video

Pros:

Autofocus is very fast, accurate and repeatable. Best ever tested by DxOMark Mobile team, at the time of testing.
Excellent stabilization in good lighting conditions.
Attractive color in wide range of lighting.
Fine-grained noise.

Cons:

Occasional exposure inaccuracies can be noticed
Some stabilization artifacts visible during video capture (iPhone 6 Plus)

,,and after you perform a reflash, still the lock will not be reset to factory default which is 12345, heres a way to find your lock code..

2. you must have rootsh installed on your mobile.
3. in your mobile go to terminal.
4. type sudo gainroot
5. then type..
